My
name is Dianella Cappi. I live and work at Pavarolo, a small town
sited on the hills around Turin (Italy).
I have always devoted myself to creative activities: dress designer
and window dresser for my parents' firm, then internal decorator,
finally art decorator.
I heard about Decoupage the first time at the end of 1995: everything
began when a friend of mine came back from a trip to England, crazy
about this decorative technique, even if with a limited technical
knowledge. She just knew it was about paper cuttings to be pasted
and drowned in varnish. We decorated together the first tray and
it was love at first sight.
I started to decorate all the cans and various objects I had at
home, in order to master the technique. Then I moved on to the search
of my own style and I chose wood and garden, because by woods and
gardens is surrounded my house and nature is the environment where
I like to live in.
In the last few years Decoupage has become my work, that means selling
my creations in antique trade markets and handicraft exhibitions,
decorating customers' objects and pieces of furniture, working for
some Italian magazines.
During the last few years, I've been holding "full immersion"
professional courses all over Italy with great satisfaction of the
participants and, of course, myself.
